School Policies

Learning of any kind requires a certain amount of discipline and dedication.

Once you have chosen to study and train at Solas An Lae, we expect each student to be focused and work hard in class.

Please review our school policies below, they are intended to insure that each student receives the highest standard of dance education and training.

Attire

Students are required to wear clean Dancewear  & tights to every class.

Dancewear can be ordered & purchased through Balletomania 845-473-3231

Students are required to have Irish dance shoes in good condition and tied correctly for class.

Shoes and Attire

Hair must be neatly tied back and off the face. Pony tails or for longer hair, buns are recommended.

No bracelets or earrings or other types of jewelry that may effect or distract from students training.

Registration

Registration must be received during specified registration periods. Full payment is required at the time of registration, registration fee’s do apply after registration deadlines.

All tuition and registration fee’s are non-refundable. Under circumstances of injury, tuition may be carried over through another semester.

Attendance & Performances

A total effort must be made to attend every class. Dance class is a group effort and therefore absence affects everyone! Regular attendance is of great importance.

Physical skills require persistent repetition to ensure maximum results. Because dance training is an ongoing process therefore cannot be mastered with sporadic attendance.

In the event of absence, make-up classes are available. There are no deductions on tuition due to absence.

SAL students are encouraged, but not required, to perform in SAL’s Matinee Series (selected levels, once a month throughout the year) & recital performances (once a year).  Participating in SAL’s recitals and matinee’s, students will need to order and purchase assigned costumes and attend all scheduled rehearsals.

Schedules

Class and rehearsal schedules are subject to change. In the event of schedule change, parents will be notified by email.

SAL does not always follow the lead of the public schools in cancellations for weather and select holidays.

Scheduled classes for select holidays can be found on the SAL website under class schedules or calendar

Cancelations

SAL will close in the case of inclement weather. Weather conditions can be unpredictable, notification of cancelation will be posted at the latest 2 hours prior to scheduled classes. Confirmation of cancellation will be posted on the main page of the SAL website, and by voice message at (845) 876-5694.  If classes are cancelled due to weather, they may not be re-scheduled. Students are permitted to make-up missed or cancelled classes at their own convenience.
